You will be provided with a reference and some statements. Please determine whether each statement is 'supported', 'unsupported', or 'unknown' with respect to the reference. Please note:
First, assess whether the reference contains any valid content. If the reference contains no valid information, such as a 'page not found' message, then all statements should be considered 'unknown'.
If the reference is valid, for a given statement: if the facts or data it contains can be found entirely or partially within the reference, it is considered 'supported' (data accepts rounding); if all facts and data in the statement cannot be found in the reference, it is considered 'unsupported'.

You should return the result in a JSON list format, where each item in the list contains the statement's index and the judgment result, for example:
[
    {
        "idx": 1,
        "result": "supported"
    },
    {
        "idx": 2,
        "result": "unsupported"
    }
]

Our latest report “Orchestrating the Future of Home Energy Management” explores a whole-home coordinated future in U.S. households through innovative technology, and here’s why it’s a game changer.

With 15% of U.S. households already adopting solar panels, home batteries, or EVs by end of 2024, coordinated energy management is critical. Without coordination, these systems often work in isolation, leading to inefficiencies and missed opportunities. By leveraging data from all devices, Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) can align solar energy generation with battery charging or optimize EV charging during lower-cost energy periods, ensuring homeowners get the most from their investments.

Half of U.S. internet households actively try to reduce energy consumption, and 46% are willing to share energy data between devices. However, many lack the time, knowledge, or confidence to make impactful changes – 36% of consumers in U.S. internet households say they would like to use less energy but don’t have the knowledge or time to invest in doing so. Currently, 40% of households with smart devices currently use them in a coordinated manner. HEMS platforms, enhanced by AI, bridge this gap by turning data into actionable insights and automation, maximizing efficiency without active management.

Electricity bills are up 14% since 2019, and outages are increasing by 20% annually between 2019 and 2023, making resilience a priority. Consumers are responding with interest in battery backup, solar, and smart panels, giving support during outages, while also contributing to more flexible grid management. But they need assurance that these investments will deliver value. Coordinated energy management helps maximize ROI and resilience.

13% of all internet households participate in demand response programs in the U.S. today, and the rate is growing each year. This number is almost doubled (22%) when it comes to smart thermostat owners. But device-specific demand response programs offer limited flexibility. Whole-home orchestration unlocks broader load management, making demand response and virtual power plants (VPPs) more effective. This enables utilities to offer better incentives and defer costly infrastructure upgrades.

Modern homes with EV chargers, electric water heaters or HVAC systems often require costly 400A service upgrades. HEMS can intelligently stagger high-load devices, allowing homes to operate within existing 200A panels, saving homeowners and builders thousands in upgrade costs and avoiding utility delays, while accommodating energy needs and comfort efficiently.

The future of home energy management has never looked brighter. Home Energy Management Systems lay at the foundation for a new energy ecosystem, one where connected devices, distributed resources, and consumer preferences come together in seamless, autonomous management that keeps households firmly in control.

<statements>
1. In the Smart Home Architectural Evolution table, the legacy connected paradigm (2018–2023) for Energy Management is reactive smart plugs and passive telemetry logging
2. Driven by rising electricity tariffs, increasingly common time-of-use pricing models, and widespread grid instability, consumers are seeking active management of their domestic electrical loads
3. Modern Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) serve as the computational balance point between intermittent rooftop solar generation, stationary battery storage, heavy electrical appliances, and the municipal electrical grid
4. The system charges the vehicle during midday periods of peak solar production or off-peak night hours with low tariffs, then discharges energy to run home appliances during expensive peak evening hours
5. Solid-State Smart Panels & Bi-Directional HEMS Controllers: Enables true microgrid islanding; automates tariff cost arbitrage using EV traction batteries; executes dynamic virtual power plant demand shifts
